DAY 1: MARRAKECH -
After breakfast in your hotel, we will depart from Marrakech to Casablanca and we explore the largest city in Morocco as you visit the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in North Africa, and then we travel to Rabat. We explore main city sights including Hassan Tower and kasbah. Accommodations at your hotel.
DAY 2: RABAT -
Today after breakfast we drive to Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. We explore lovely medina painted in blue shades. We discover main square lined with coffees. Free program afternoon. Accommodations at your hotel.
DAY 3: FREE DAY IN CHEFCHAOUEN.
Our 8 Day Grand Morocco Tour Departure Marrakech continues with free day in Rif mountains, optional hiking adventure trek with local guide. Accommodations at your hotel.
DAY 4: CHEFCHAOUEN -
After breakfast, we drive towards Volubilis, crossing over Ouazan in Rif. We explore Volubilis, with local guide to Roman ruins. We continue to Meknes, to explore the historical walls of the medina along with Bab el Mansour and a visit to the Moulay Ismail shrine. Later in the afternoon, we’ll head to Fes where we will spend the night.
DAY 5: FES MEDINA EXCURSION.
Enjoy exploring the oldest city in Morocco, with narrow streets. We’ll visit the Royal Palace gate, followed by the Jewish headquarter where the first Mellah ever was built in Morocco, during the 16th century. We’ll ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region. We’ll also visit the Tanneries, the Attarine museum, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. Overnight in riad.
DAY 6: FES-
Today we will continue our tour towards Ifrane and Azrou, then Midelt. On our way to Merzouga, we will have lunch in Midelt and then we cross the High Atlas mountains and drive through the gorges of the Ziz. The gorges are the result of the power of the Ziz River. We drive Via Erfoud to the famous dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) where we will have dinner and we stay in nomad tents overnight.
DAY 7: MERZOUGA -
Early in the morning, we watch desert sunrise before we ride camels back to the village of Merzouga, en route you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in your riad, you’ll leave for the Dades Valley, visiting Todra Gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch within the valley, you will have an optional hour’s hike through the fields where you will enjoy visiting an old mud village, meet locals and learn about the culture. On through Dades Valley, where you will have the opportunity to see majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in your hotel overlooking the Dades valley.
DAY 8: DADES -
After breakfast, we’ll continue towards Ouarzazate through the path of a thousand Kasbahs (fortress) stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses,we visit SKOura and Ouarzazate. Then, we’ll drive through Ait Ben Haddou ( a UNESCO World Heritage site). Tour finishes in Marrakech.
